Painters Crates

Camera obscuras work in the same way as the human eye; they home in on an image, making some things in and out of focus. When installed in a particular space, they provide the viewer with a heightened sense of perception; things that could be seen as dull can take on a ‘jewel-like’ quality. Like the camera obscura boxes, the lenses in our eyes show us the world upside down, it is our power of cognition that enables us to flip this image in our mind and see the world the right way up.
